The St. Francis Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 61-44 fall against Stevenson. St. Francis has struggled against Stevenson recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Joseph Rose, who scored 17 points. Rose hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Markel Parker was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, St. Francis were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stevenson only racked up 19 assists.
Stevenson found their leader in underclassman Cooper Olin, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Harry Marquess, who scored 12 points along with six assists.
St. Francis' loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Stevenson, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
St. Francis will be playing in front of their home fans against Pacific Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pacific Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for Stevenson, they will head out on the road to face off against North Monterey County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
