They came out on top against Lawson by a score of 50-41. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 22% better than the opposition, as Wellington-Napoleon's was.
Wellington-Napoleon was led to victory by Maddox Blystone and Lucas Waterworth. Blystone scored 13 points, while Waterworth scored nine points along with three steals. Haden Terrill was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds.
Lawson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Jones, who scored eight points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brogan Crawford, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Even though they lost, Lawson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Wellington-Napoleon's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Lawson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Wellington-Napoleon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bishop LeBlond at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Bishop LeBlond presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wellington-Napoleon in Missouri (Bishop LeBlond is ranked 111th, while Wellington-Napoleon is ranked 344th). As for Lawson, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
