Glendale Prep Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by North Phoenix Preparatory Academy on the road to the tune of 63-11. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-5.
Glendale Prep Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Caspers, who scored 12 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals. Caspers is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maggie Hawkins, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chandler Prep had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Arete Prep with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-31.
Glendale Prep Academy's victory bumped their season record to 6-0 while North Phoenix Preparatory Academy's loss dropped theirs to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Glendale Prep Academy against Chandler Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 58-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glendale Prep Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
