Broadwater was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Three Forks/Willow Creek. The Bulldogs came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Manhattan/Manhattan Christian extended the longest winning streak in Southern 5B this week by beating Whitehall/Harrison, 41-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Tigers.
Jefferson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Brunett threw for 123 and two touchdowns and Tony Butler had 86 yards receiving. On the ground Jed Fike chipped in 76 yards. Karson Novak helped Jefferson's passing attack out by catching two balls for 28 yards.
Jefferson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brunett has thrown for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Butler has 13 catches for 319 yards. David Weinmeister leads the league in rushing with 317 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Panthers take on Broadwater. Jefferson's offense has racked up 153 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Travis Rauh's team has allowed only 79 on the year.
A big matchup in Southern 5B this week will be when Clint Layng's team takes on the Bulldogs. As it stands, the Panthers are in third, while Broadwater is in second.
Manhattan/Manhattan Christian led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on the Trojans.
