While losing is never fun, Gary West Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Highland is ranked 151st).
Highland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Steele, who scored 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Steele has scored at least a third of Highland's points. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Keil, who scored 16 points.
Gary West Side's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Highland, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gary West Side will take on Whiting at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Munster at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Munster will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
