After a string of three wins, the Victory Baptist Academy Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 59-32 loss at the hands of Mid-Moore Christian. While losing is never fun, Victory Baptist Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1259th in Texas, while Mid-Moore Christian is ranked 83rd in Oklahoma).
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brock Hestand, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Ruhl, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Mid-Moore Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but T. Gaddis led the charge by scoring 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaddis has scored all season. C. Moore was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Victory Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Mid-Moore Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-1 record this season.
Victory Baptist Academy and Azle Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Azle Christian is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Mid-Moore Christian, they will face off against Tournament Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
