After losing to the United Lions the last time they met, the North Star Cougars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. North Star slipped by United 49-48 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Star.
Leading North Star to victory were Brady Weimer and Ethan Smith. Weimer scored 17 points, while Smith scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Smith continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Glendon Griffith, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
North Star's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for United, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
North Star will look to defend their home court on Friday against Claysburg-Kimmel at 7:30 p.m. As for United, they will head out on the road to face off against West Shamokin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Shamokin and United are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
