Mayfield extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-10. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Rangers. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rangers earlier this season, when they won 5-0.

Riley Seitz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lilly Pinzone made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooke Tirabassi, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.
As for North, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 13, 2025.
On North's side, Violet Dichazy made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Dichazy was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Dichazy wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Holly Mosnik, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base was Mosnik's first of the season.
Coming up, Mayfield will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Riverside at 4:30 p.m. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Beavers have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for North, they will head out to take on South at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rangers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
