The Lutcher Bulldogs will play host again and welcome the Assumption Mustangs, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Lutcher was beaten by Newman 88-40. While losing is never fun, Lutcher can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Newman is ranked ninth).
Meanwhile, Assumption came up short against South Lafourche on Friday and fell 40-28.
Lutcher's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Assumption, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.
Lutcher beat Assumption 63-52 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Does Lutcher have another victory up their sleeve, or will Assumption turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
