Center Place's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-40 to Heartland. Center Place was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Heartland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Rylie Kroesen and Isabelle Howen certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Kroesen scored 23 points, while Howen scored six points along with 11 rebounds. That was a full 57.5% of Center Place's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Center Place bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Heartland, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center Place will stay at home for another game and welcome Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Heartland will take on Blue Ridge Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
