In what's become a running theme this season, the Wheatland-Chili Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 54-34 margin over Elba. The win was familiar territory for Wheatland-Chili who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Leighton Williams, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Louden Thrush, who scored nine points.
Wheatland-Chili is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Elba, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Wheatland-Chili will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Medina will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 119th). As for Elba, they will head out on the road to challenge the Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
