The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles will head out to challenge the Gilbert Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gray Collegiate Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Aiken by a score of 3-1.
Gray Collegiate Academy walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 20-25, 25-13.

Gray Collegiate Academy can attribute much of their success to Colby Branham, who had five digs and two aces, and Haylen Lawson, who had 17 digs and five assists. What's more, Lawson also posted a -40% hitting percentage, which is the highest she's achieved over her last five matchups.
They weren't the only good servers: Gray Collegiate Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Gilbert entered their tilt with Airport on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles.
Gilbert was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 25-18.
Gray Collegiate Academy's record is now 18-4. As for Gilbert, their record now sits at 13-8.
Gray Collegiate Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Gilbert when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the War Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
