Two weeks ago, Field Kindley was the victim of a rough 57-35 loss at the hands of Fort Scott. While losing is never fun, Field Kindley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Fort Scott is ranked 32nd).
Meanwhile, Labette County had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Paola with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 56-42. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Labette County has managed all season.
It was another big night for Hudson Baker, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. Baker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Zavier Phillips was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Field Kindley's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Labette County, their win bumped their record up to 1-11.
Field Kindley couldn't quite finish off Labette County in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 41-39. Can Field Kindley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
