The Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Military Magnet Academy. If Palmetto Scholars Academy was looking for revenge after losing 72-54 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Military Magnet Academy was led to victory by Caiden Perry and Jailen Williams. Perry scored 17 points, while Williams scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perry has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Waters, who scored six points.
Palmetto Scholars Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Military Magnet Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmetto Scholars Academy will face off against the Riptide at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Military Magnet Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the NaviGators at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lowcountry Leadership comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
