The Parrish Community Bulls came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Lakewood Ranch with a 46-41 victory.
Parrish Community was led to victory by Sarah Decker and Mary Portwood. Decker dropped a double-double on 15 points and 21 rebounds, while Portwood scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Decker's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Parrish Community's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Despite that those victories, the team's offense hasn't been rolling: across that stretch, they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Lakewood Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Parrish Community won't have much time to rest: their next game is against River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. River Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parrish Community in Florida (River Ridge is ranked 43rd, while Parrish Community is ranked 164th). As for Lakewood Ranch, they will head out on the road to face off against Manatee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
