Mena Otovo of North Valley Baptist ran for the longest rushing play in Mission Trail (8 Man) this season against Crystal Springs Uplands last week. Otovo's team lost to the Gryphons as he sprinted for 73 yards on the play and finished with 236 in all.
Woodside Priory took down East Palo Alto Phoenix Academy 64-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. James McDaniel ran for 180 yards in the win.
Matt Novak was the best wideout in the league this week as Trinity Christian bested Anzar. Novak racked up 3 receptions for 82 yards. Dre Perez helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 60 yards.
Joshua Cayetano put up the best numbers in passing as Alma Heights Christian beat El Sobrante Christian. He finished with a total of 16 completions for 139 yards and 4 touchdowns. Cayetano's favorite target this week was Matthew Ross, who caught 5 passes for 57 yards.
Ross was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Eagles bested El Sobrante Christian. The 5-foot-5 freshman grabbed 3 interceptions.
He went 16-28 with 2 interceptions.
Otovo was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Ivan Tellez added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.
