After a string of four wins, the Aptos Mariners's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilcox. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Aptos still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Ackerman, who scored 25 points. Ackerman scored a full 43.1% of Aptos' points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lawrence Ingram was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Aptos' loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Wilcox, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Aptos will head out on the road to face off against Salinas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilcox will be staying on the road on December 27th to face off against Arroyo Grande at 1:30 p.m. on December 27th. Arroyo Grande presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilcox in California (Arroyo Grande is ranked 180th, while Wilcox is ranked 471st).
