Basketball Recap: Rock Point Piles Up the Points Against Music Mountain

Rock Point won the last time they faced Music Mountain and things went their way on Friday too. The Rock Point Cougars took their matchup with ease, bagging a 77-46 victory over the Music Mountain Warriors. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 31 points or more this season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aliyania Matuck, who went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points along with seven assists and six boards. The dominant performance gave Matuck a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Shalayna Havatone, who posted four points in addition to nine blocks and five rebounds.

The win was the fourth in a row for Rock Point, bringing their record for this year to 12-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Music Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Rock Point wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-28 victory against BASIS Flagstaff on the 25th. Music Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
