The Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 58-49 victory over Somerset College Prep Academy.
Somerset Academy - Canyons was led to victory by Alana Pinnock and Alanna Fabrini. Pinnock scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Fabrini scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Fabrini's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Delanie Doty, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Somerset Academy - Canyons' victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.
Somerset Academy - Canyons is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Pine Crest at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Pine Crest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 back in December of 2023. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Port St. Lucie at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Port St. Lucie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 569th, while Somerset College Prep Academy is ranked 161st).
