The Uxbridge Spartans waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They skirted past Southbridge 41-39. That's two games straight that Uxbridge has won by exactly two points.
It was another big night for Ethan Mccusker, who scored 17 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Uxbridge's points. James Sanford was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Uxbridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Southbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Uxbridge will square off against Oxford at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southbridge, they will head out on the road to square off against Quaboag Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Massachusetts (Quaboag Regional is ranked 212th, while Southbridge is ranked 199th).
