The Northview Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 63-28 loss at the hands of Jay. While losing is never fun, Northview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while the Royals are ranked 334th).
Despite the loss, Northview had strong showings from JIKEIR HUDSON, who scored seven points, and JACOB SPENCE, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds. SPENCE has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times he's played.
Northview has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Jay, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northview will take on the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pensacola is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Jay, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Eagles at 6:45 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Maurice Smith and Ethan Mcdonald.
