The Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Sunday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of 1 of 1 Academy.
1 of 1 Academy was led to victory by Yohance Conner and Tayeshaun Smith. Conner scored nine points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Smith scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Akins-Chong, who scored nine points.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for 1 of 1 Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion Prep Academy will challenge Rosedale Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
