The Oneida Indians will take on the William Blount Governors in a holiday battle at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday at. Oneida will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 110th, while William Blount is ranked 23rd).
Oneida unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Gatlinburg-Pittman, falling 93-52. Oneida was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.
Meanwhile, even though Farragut scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, William Blount still came out on top. William Blount managed a 71-66 win over Farragut. The victory was nothing new for William Blount as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Oneida's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for William Blount, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Oneida couldn't quite finish off William Blount in their previous matchup back in November of 2014 and fell 68-65. Can Oneida avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
