Zeke Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cornerstone Christian, rushing for 255 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes. Adams was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Dunning, who rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Evangel Christian Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evangel Christian Academy will square off against Southern Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southern Prep Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matchups. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Bessemer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bessemer Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked fourth).
