North Delta had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Indianola Academy Colonels, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Green Wave have posted since March 10th.

Owens Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Hoshell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

North Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

North Delta pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Indianola Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Delta will face off against Winona Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Delta is facing Winona Christian at the right time seeing as Winona Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Indianola Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on O'Bannon at 5:00 p.m. on April 17.
