Camden County is 1-9 against the Vikings since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Camden County Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Lowndes Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Camden County is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Camden County put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Valdosta 56-34. Given Camden County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Wildcats are ranked 88th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Taylor Rietveld, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Akeelah Bryan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lowndes unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 58-48 to Colquitt County.
Camden County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Lowndes, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.
Camden County came up short against the Vikings when the teams last played back in January, falling 52-45. Can Camden County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
