It was a good run, but the Sandpoint Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Lakeland 47-43. Sandpoint was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lakeland apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Wednesday.
Sandpoint lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karlie Banks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Banks is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Tomco, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Sandpoint's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4. As for Lakeland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Sandpoint didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-35 loss vs. Lakeland on the 10th. Lakeland has also already played their next game, a 42-35 victory against Sandpoint on the 10th.
