The Vero Beach Indians can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They breezed by Westwood on the road to the tune of 59-18. That 59-18 margin sets a new team best for Vero Beach this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vero Beach to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamya Riggins, who scored ten points along with three steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ekklesia Anderson, who scored ten points along with six assists and five steals.
Vero Beach's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Westwood, they bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Vero Beach will take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vero Beach in Florida (Centennial is ranked 106th, while Vero Beach is ranked 274th). As for Westwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Sebastian River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
