Alexandria-Monroe has struggled against Lapel recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Lapel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laniah Wills, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Wills' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Annalee Stow was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
Alexandria-Monroe has yet to win a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38 points. As for Lapel, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Alexandria-Monroe will head out on the road to face off against Daleville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Daleville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. As for Lapel, they will be playing at home against Yorktown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
