Miami Country Day will be up against a hot Benjamin team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Benjamin had just enough and edged St. Edward's out 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buccaneers have posted since December 11, 2023.

Benjamin found their leader in sophomore Logan Buchanan, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Buchanan has scored all season. Drew Buchanan was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds.
Benjamin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Miami Country Day faced Cardinal Gibbons in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Miami Country Day took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cardinal Gibbons. The Spartans have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Benjamin will need focus on slowing down Daltyn Simon, one of several Miami Country Day players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaim Galbut, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Benjamin's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Miami Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Benjamin has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Miami Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Benjamin took a serious blow against Miami Country Day when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 88-48. Can Benjamin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
