Even though the Plainfield South Cougars have not done well against the Joliet West Tigers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way  on Tuesday. Plainfield South came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers  and snuck past  67-65. The  win was nothing new for Plainfield South as they're now sitting on three straight.
  Jazlynn Foster continued  her habit of posting crazy stat lines,  dropping  a double-double on 24 points and 12  rebounds.  Destynia Mcgruder was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 12 points and 12  rebounds.
 Joliet West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Maziah Shelton, who  scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was  Makayla Chism, who  scored 14 points.
 Plainfield South pushed their record up to 17-8 with that  win, which was their eighth straight  on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Joliet West,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 13-11.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainfield South and the Bengals will face off  at 6:30  p.m.  on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Plainfield East will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Cougars are ranked 130th). As for Joliet West, they will head out on the road to  face off against  the Spartans at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Romeoville will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
