Lahainaluna hasn't had much luck against Baldwin recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Baldwin strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against King Kekaulike by a score of 7-2. Those seven runs were actually the fewest the Bears have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Hope Batulayan-Cadorna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bailey Nagasako (Bailey) was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Pinheiro (Kyra), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Baldwin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Baldwin pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lahainaluna, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
