Last Friday, Reynoldsburg was able to grind out a solid win over the Golden Gales, taking the game 61-54. Given Reynoldsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Golden Gales are ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Central Crossing had to settle for a 51-48 loss against the Wildcats on Friday. Central Crossing has struggled against the Wildcats recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Central Crossing got a solid performance out of Cheyenne Taylor, who went 8 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Savannah Hamilton, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Reynoldsburg is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Central Crossing, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Reynoldsburg against the Comets in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 65-20 win. With Reynoldsburg ahead 47-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
