Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr.'s Big Game Leads Irmo over River Bluff
Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr.'s big game helped extend Irmo's winning streak to seven on Friday. River Bluff had no answer to Brand Jr. as he rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 120 yards while completing 75% of his passes. The dominant performance gave Brand Jr. a new career-high in rushing yards.
River Bluff had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Brand Jr. it was a similar story. When Brand Jr. last faced the Gators back in September of 2023, he threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.

On Friday, Chapin had to settle for second even though Tanner Short put up the best numbers he has all season. Short picked up two sacks and made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
If history really does repeat itself, Short might just drop another big game when he faces off against River Bluff on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Short saw the Gators), he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Maurice Anderson was instrumental in extending Dutch Fork's winning streak to 14 on Friday. Anderson wasn't messing around, rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 68 receiving yards and a touchdown. The contest was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.
Dutch Fork pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Anderson and Dutch Fork will challenge Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
