Ariton barely beat Long the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Purple Cats put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 11-3 win on Monday. The Purple Cats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Ariton's sixth in a row) raised their record to 22-14. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Long, their loss dropped their record down to 19-15.

Ariton has already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Houston County on the 4th. As for Long, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-0 win against Abbeville on the 4th.
