The McBee Panthers pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity Collegiate. Even though they lost, McBee's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.8 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
McBee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Morrell, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrek Wright was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 6 assists.
This is the second loss in a row for McBee and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Trinity Collegiate, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McBee will take on North Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. North Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while McBee is ranked 106th). As for Trinity Collegiate, they will be playing at home against Hemingway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
