Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heartland Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayan Velazquez, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Mike Fugitt, who scored 14 points.
Training Center Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Creed Lopez and Bryce Bryan. Lopez dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Bryan scored ten points along with four steals. The game was Lopez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Bryan, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Heartland Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Training Center Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Heartland Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Knox County at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Knox County is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Training Center Christian will take on Show-Me Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Show-Me Christian is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
