The Tooele Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 73-33 loss at the hands of East. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tooele has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Tooele lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grady Symonds. Despite the final result, he scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Dillon Polson, who scored five points.
Even though they lost, Tooele were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East only racked up 17 assists.
East got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Dodd out in front who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Sawyer Sutton was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five assists.
Tooele's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for East, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Tooele won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Snow Canyon at 1:45 p.m. on December 28th. Snow Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tooele in Utah (Snow Canyon is ranked 32nd, while Tooele is ranked 114th). East's road trip will continue as they head out to face Timpanogos at 5:45 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Timpanogos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Tuesday.
