Billingsley moved up to 296 from 336 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A Region 3. A 34-28 win over Holt helped the Bears improve their standing.
Keith extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Southside, 43-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Bears.
Billingsley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Thomas Nichols threw for 64 and two touchdowns and Torrey Green had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Terrance Nolen chipped in 119 yards. Rashaud Caver helped Billingsley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 13 yards.
Billingsley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nichols has thrown for 569 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Green has 10 catches for 179 yards. Nolen leads the league in rushing with 306 yards.
A big matchup in 1A Region 3 this week will be when Maplesville takes on Ellwood Christian. The Red Devils are currently in first, while the Eagles are in fourth.
Akron took down Marengo 53-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
