Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Gilead). They ended the year with a bang, routing the Tree of Life Christian Trojans 63-42 on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their 25-point performance the contest before.
Faith White went supernova for Mt. Gilead, going 9 of 11 on her way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. White is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Pohlkotte, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points.
With the win, Mt. Gilead broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4. As for Tree of Life Christian, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Gilead will venture away from home to challenge Cardington-Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tree of Life Christian, they will head out to take on Granville Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
