Winnebago's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lavelle Smith, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals. Smith also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Lapointe, who scored 11 points.
Creighton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Kuhl, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Charlie Rohrer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Winnebago's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Creighton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Winnebago will take on Tri County Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Winnebago is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. As for Creighton, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Homer at 6:00 p.m. Creighton is on a three-game streak of home losses, Homer a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
