The Lexington Wildcats had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against Aiken by a score of 56-47. With that victory, Lexington brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Lexington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evie Godfrey out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sydni Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Aiken had strong showings from Norriyah Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Malasia Jamison, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bradley has scored all season.
Lexington is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Aiken, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Lexington will head out on the road to face off against Dutch Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aiken, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Aiken at 7:30 p.m. South Aiken is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
