The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pine View. Crimson Cliffs has struggled against Pine View recently, as their match on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Summer Adams and Kinsey Plewe certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Adams scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Plewe scored ten points along with four steals. Plewe hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Pine View found their leader in underclassman Charity Falaniko, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Falaniko has scored all season. Casey Morley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Crimson Cliffs has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Pine View, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crimson Cliffs will take on Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pine View, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hurricane and Pine View are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
