In what's become a running theme this season, the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 51-21 win over Mullen on the road. Given Gordon-Rushville's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Mullen is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Haley Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with eight steals and six assists. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Mckinley Grover was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Mullen saw an underclassman step up: Hayley Donohoe scored nine points along with six rebounds.

Gordon-Rushville's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-4. As for Mullen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Gordon-Rushville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chadron at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Chadron has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 249 points over their last four contests. As for Mullen, they will take on Arthur County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
