Basketball Recap: Jamiyah Rembert Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Eagle's Landing Christian Academy

McDonough won the last time they faced Eagle's Landing Christian Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The McDonough Warhawks took down the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers 58-44. The Warhawks didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

McDonough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamiyah Rembert, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Amira Carter, who earned 15 points.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Natasha Smith, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Jazmine Lopez was another key player, putting up 14 points along with six boards and three steals.

McDonough's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-16. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.

Coincidentally, McDonough and Eagle's Landing Christian Academy will both be playing Hampton the next time they take the court. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy will head out to face Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while McDonough will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
