The Freeman Scotties managed to keep up with the Clarkston Bantams until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Freeman was the victim of a tough 70-47 loss at the hands of Clarkston. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Freeman in their matchups with Clarkston: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Freeman saw an underclassman step up: Taylee Phelps scored 16 points. The match was Phelps' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Semprimoznik, who scored 7 points.
Freeman's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Clarkston, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeman will take on Lakeside at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkston will be home for the holidays to greet Post Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
