Bloomington North enjoyed a cozy 48-30 win over the Patriots on Thursday. Given Bloomington North's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Patriots are ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bloomington North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Robbennolt, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Robbennolt has scored at least a third of Bloomington North's points. Another player making a difference was Ashley Stegemoller, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rebecca Gore, who scored 19 points.
Bloomington North pushed their record up to 18-5 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-17.
Bloomington North will take on the Artesians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Martinsville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, they will take on the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Terre Haute South Vigo has now lost 17 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
