The Wendell Trojans lost against the Declo Hornets back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wendell was dealt a 50-14 loss at the hands of Declo. Wendell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although Wendell took the loss, they still got scores from Jesse Chavez and Michael Talbert.
Wendell's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Declo, Buhl, and Bear Lake. As for Declo, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Wendell will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Bear Lake is ranked 53rd, while Wendell is ranked 56th). Declo will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grangeville at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Grangeville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
