The numbers might not have changed much, but the postseason is here and brought about plenty of gameday action in the power rankings this week. A special shoutout goes to Ravenwood's junior Brian Garcia, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Upperman got a 44 - 14 win over York Institute last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Blake Metzgar. Metzgar ran for 220 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. That performance made Metzgar one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Mount Juliet (5th in the power rankings) and Blackman (7th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Mount Juliet blew past Blackman 35 - 14. The power rankings were completely indifferent to the match, so neither team moved up or down this week.
Game of Inches
The title of the most exciting match of the week goes to the clash between Franklin Road Academy and Notre Dame. Franklin Road Academy won an extremely close contest against Notre Dame with a final score of 34 - 33. Franklin Road Academy and Notre Dame were a much more even match than Franklin Road Academy's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Brentwood Academy (2nd in the power rankings) and Montgomery Bell Academy (1st). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
