The Sand Rock Wildcats can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Piedmont with a sharp 53-30 win. Given Sand Rock's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Piedmont is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Katelyn St.clair, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Kennedy Henderson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Sand Rock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Piedmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
Sand Rock will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sylvania at 6:00 p.m. Piedmont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against White Plains at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. White Plains has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
